History of Olympic Weightlifting
The Lift Up project is brought to you by chidlovski.com.
1971 World Championship, Lima, Peru: Ken Patera (USA) lifts 212.5 kg in clean and jerk to win a silver medal in the superheavyweight. One of the strongest US supers of the 1970s, Patera also one of the challengers of Vasily Alexeev on the international arena. Like in most of the other cases, in the face to face competition on the platform, Alexeev remained unbeatable no matter now close his opponents were getting to his results in training.
