History of Olympic Weightlifting
The Lift Up project is brought to you by chidlovski.com.
During the 1970s and 1980s, the world eyewitnessed the super rivalry between Team USSR and Team Bulgaria that produced many outstanding athletes and results. Bulgarians tended to dominate lighter weight classes and the Soviets settled for superiority in the heavier categories. Anton Kodzhabashev was one of the most prominent lifters that competed for Bulgaria in the early 1980s. He was ranked as number one bantamweight during the time.
