My father (a college wrestler) owned a set of York Barbells and introduced me to weight training and Strength & Health magazine when I was 14. Bob Hoffman's writing and examples in the magazine inspired and instructed me in how to build a better body thru weight training.
This was a time when all but a very few sports coaches denounced weight training as destructive to sports ability and causing athletes to become 'muscle bound.' Bob Hoffman was a major champion in destroying that myth. He should be immortalized.
I am now 87 - 73 years later - and still healthy, still strong and still training with weights.
