Gastone Pierini

:: 10/4/2008: Roberta Pierini, São Bernardo do Campo São Paulo, Brazil
Gastone Pierini was born in Italy but lived in Egypt up to 1957. He represented Italy in 4 Summer Olympics - 1924; 1928; 1932; 1936. The 2nd World War put an end to his career. He spent 5 years in concentration camp at Fayed, Egypt, together with thousands of other Italian civilians. No recognition for his contributions ever came from Italy, the country he loved to his last moment and which he honored above all. He went to Brazil in 1957 and died there in 1967. Proud to be this man´s daughter, Roberta Pierini
