He was one of the first Bugarians that I rooted for. I was impressed that even as a veteran lifter he reduced weight classes to compete in Montreal. That was not easy to do. He was later a coach.

Norair is noteworthy for winning not one but TWO Olympic titles. I remember the story of him competing for his second title. He had a huge, split blister on the palm of his hand. When questioned about whether this would hamper him, he dismissed, saying 'I came here to win. I can't let something trivial dissuade me.' Very solid.
