I marveled at the depth of their team from a country similar in population to the US. I used to go crazy trying to pronounce the tongue twister names of some of the lifters which I would see in the results. Aslenback Yenaldiev was one of those. I saw his name in Strength and Health magazine after the Friendship cup in '77 or '78. He was big like Alexeev and looked like the man of the future. I could see that Rakmanov was a better snatcher and could be beaten by some one with a consistently good jerk. That is why it is the King of lifts. The jerk wins championships for you. Too bad there was so much politics involved and the lifters couldn't decide it all on the platform. Glad to see that Aslenback is more trim and healthy looking today. Best of luck to you and your daughter.

Nagy was one of the elite lifters in the 1970s, he won the national titles in 1973-1975, 1977-1978 (5) and was the 4th in the 110KG+ at the 1976 Olympics in Montreal. :: 7/21/2009: ted neville, cork , ireland I think that is the huge Czech lifter Bohuslav Braum shaking hands with Plachkov on the podium. :: 6/23/2009: kavkaz, İSTANBUL İST, TURKEY god bless you ossetians.iratta razma
