Joseph Melville Barnett

Mr Barnett was a schoolteacher (PE) in the mid 50s. One morning, he was unimpressed with my lack of effort and questioned what I had had for breakfast. 'Bacon and eggs, sir', I lied. 'Well you should have had snap, crackle and pops' quipped he. Strange what you remember after over 60 years. I think it is because he was a nice man.
