Elsewhere on this site Arthur has posted the results of the Soviet-American meets of 1958. Here is something from TIME magazine, May 26, 1958, page 82, also available online: Bantamweight Vladimir Stogov, an army chauffeur, took a turn behind the wheel of a new Ford, fled in terror when he pushed a button and the retractable hardtop began to fold. --I think I remember reading elsewhere that this happened in Detrot in an auto factory.
