:: 11/15/2012: Gioacchino Ricci, Rome , Italy@5/9/2010: Stephen Powell---------------------------------------------
Reding did a WR of 226.5 just before Alekseev, 226.5 is 300g under 500lb!
now, or he was not awared of this storic limit,
or he did 500lb rounded to 226.5, and then russian jusat made better publicity....
 :: 4/15/2012: Randy Allen, Kenosha WI, USASerge was my favorite super of the day. I loved watching him lift on Wide World of Sports and to this day, whenever I see a video online of him, I watch it. I even used some of his training methods in my lifting days.
 :: 5/9/2010: Stephen Powell, Irmo SC, RichlandMany people today aren't aware of this but at the 70 Worlds where Alexeev became the first man to clean and jerk 500, Reding attempted 228, cleaned it but missed the jerk. I have the footage.
 :: 9/27/2009: R.F. Johns, Cambridge Ontario, CanadaI always felt sorry for this man as he was always the bridesmaid never the bride in world competition.
He waited in the end of the 60's when is star should have risen with the demise of Zhabotinski but along came Alexeev.His training lifts were legendary pulling up 250kilos up to chest but always something went wrong when he competed against Alexeev.
Finally his luck seemed to change as he finally totaled at '74 worlds Phillipines seemed happier,got married there then died there suddenly when he was only in 30's!
