I used to come to Buckley to compere and referee weightlifting events in memory of a young sailor who died in the Falklands War. I am retiring to mid Wales and would love to hear from Horrie again.

Further career achievements of Horace Johnson as follows. Welsh Champion for 10 years; Welsh Champion of Champions; Forshaw Cup winner strongest under 20's pound for pound lifter in Great Britain; World Junior Press Record in 1961 at Liverpool; British Middleweight Champion 1967; British and British Empire and Commonwealth Games Press record holder; Awarded the second most outstanding feat trophy by an oversees lifter for his new press record at the 1962 Empire Games in Perth, Australia. Awarded the World Weightlifting Council Ekite Badge for his World ranking position.
