Altimurat Orazdurdiev, USSR

World Championship, Melbourne, Australia, 1993: One of the most talented athletes of the late 1980s and early 1990s Altimurat Orazdurdiev sets a middleweight world record in clean-and-jerk (202.5 kg) and wins world gold medal for his native Turkmenistan. Due to many factors out of his control, Orazdurdiev didn't win many tournaments he could have won had he been there. His life in sport was short and bright. He died at 27. Original footage from 1993 World Championship by John Way (Australia).
