Marek Golab

I met Marek Golab the first time in 1966, when I was in Zakopane, Poland, where I was working out with the polish national team. (Ozimek, Palinski, Baszanowski, Nowak, Trebicki, Zielinsk, Snalcers, Wojnowski and some others). It was rightafter he had made his world record i press with 168,5 kilos. I met him also the following year in Warszawa, where I was invitede to stay at Waldemar Baszanowski and his fammily, in Broniewskiego. Marek Golab was a very strong lifter, and he was a fine person with a lot of humor. I met him again in 2005, at the European Championchip in Poland, where he was one of the topmembers in the orgainsation. Today he is general secretary in the Polish Weightlifting Federation and still in very good shape, and the same nice person as 40 years ago.
