Club: Toronto Toros
Position: C  Shoots: Left
Height: 5-10 Weight: 175
Born: 12/6/1951 in London, England

Gavin Kirk was the only member of Team Canada to be born outside of North America. He had a solid, if rather unspectacular junior career with the Toronto Marlboros, and made his professional debut in the Western Hockey League with the Phoenix Roadrunners in 1971-72.

Gavin joined the Ottawa Nationals of the fledging WHA in the summer of 1972. Playing under head coach Billy Harris Kirk rounded into a very solid two-way center. Never a big goal scorer Gavin's strength lay in his ability to score timely goals, and strong defensive play. He ended his career at the end of the 1978-79 season.

Harris added Gavin Kirk to Team Canada to help "flesh out" the roster. Gavin's role was simply to add some depth and work out with the team during scrimmages. He saw brief action during the exhibition games against the junior all-stars but played in none of Team Canada's International games.
