Alexander Sidelnikov was a skillful goalie that represented Krylya Sovetov Moscow in Team USSR. He was a key player in the Soviet Wings victory at the national championship in 1974. His goaltending was based on a fast decision making, quick reflexes and good anticipation of the opponents' moves. On the international level, Sidelnikov was a back-up goalie during the Tretiak's era in Soviet hockey and had a very limited number of opportunities to show his mastery.
