Jean Ratelle
Team Canada # 18
A clean and gentlemanly player, Jean Ratelle was considered one of the most impressive and technically skilled NHL players in the 1970's. For over 9 years, as a part of the famous "GAG" (goal-a-game) line where he played with Rod Gilbert and Vic Hadfield, Ratelle demonstrated an example of extraordinary teamwork. Although their NY Rangers never won the Stanley Cup, Ratelle and his teammates were one of the most productive lines of their time.

PERFORMANCE IN THE 1972 SUMMIT
Jean Ratelle played in six games, scored one goal in Winnipeg and had four points overall in the Series. Although his performance was marked with a disappointing "minus 2" and his GAG line didn't perform at the level of the pre-series anticipations, Ratelle's experience and overall class of the game shouldn't be underestimated while evaluating his contributions in the 1972 Summit.
